Sangha List Membership Policy

August 17, 2003

This membership policy defines who is on the Sangha List of Kagyu Changchub Chuling (KCC), pursuant to Article IX of the KCC Bylaws.

A member on the KCC Sangha List will meet one of the following two conditions:

1. Dues are paid monthly, quarterly, or annually. Quarterly dues are paid in the month preceding the quarter. Annual dues are paid in January, or may be paid October-December for the upcoming year. A person may be denied the benefits and responsibilities of membership if they have not paid dues for 3 consecutive months.

Suggested dues are as follows:
Individual $25 per month
Family $35 per month
Minimum $10 per month

2. If unable to make minimum suggested dues payments, one may fill out an application for membership and submit it to the Membership Committee. Applications will be reviewed by the Membership Committeee and, if approved, membership will be applied retroactively to the date the application was submitted. Membership in this category will be reviewed annually.

Applications will be approved based on meeting least 3 of the following guidelines:

  1. A strong connection with KCC over time (e.g. regular attendance, strong connection to other sangha members, attendance at multiple KCC-sponsored retreats, etc.
  2. Significant investment of time in KCC (i.e. regularly volunteers).
  3. Total length of time regularly attending KCC (guideline is one year).
  4. Was previously a paying member of KCC but due to a change in financial status can no longer make dues payments on a regular basis.
  5. Other special situations that may arise will be evaluated on a case by case basis and may involve a decision by the board.

The Sangha List will be maintained on a regular basis by the Membership Committee. After three months of membership on the Sangha List, the member will be eligible for "member" discounts (e.g. at KCC sponsored events).
