In December of 2009, we began a series of classes and short retreats to explore three cycles of teachings given by the Buddha over his lifetime. In September, we will conclude this program with a 6-day retreat, focusing primarily on the second and third turning practices of the Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions.  Retreatants should have a fair understanding of the path of the Bodhisattva as presented and practiced in such traditions as the Seven Point Mind Training and the Thirty-Seven Practices of the Bodhisattva. Retreatants should also already be experientially familiar with such practices as Zhinay (calm abiding), Lhatong (insight), and Chenrezig. During the retreat, these practices will be used extensively to cultivate a deeper understanding of  the role of both "transformation" and "recognition" in the path leading to liberation from the kleshas.

This retreat is NOT a beginner's retreat. We expect that everyone who attends the September 6-day retreat will have also attended all three 2-day retreats in this program or have 5 years of regular Vajrayana practice. If you're unsure if you qualify, please contact Michael Conklin by email at conklin@kcc.org.

Scholarships
For some, retreat participation depends on the kindness of others in the form of monetary donations for scholarships. The number of scholarships directly depends on donations to the Scholarship Fund. With your help we can expand our sharing of the dharma with those who otherwise would be unable to participate. Please consider contributing to the Scholarship Fund. There are a limited number of scholarships available (up to 50% of the retreat cost) for individuals with serious financial constraints. To request a scholarship, please review the scholarship policy www.kcc.org/about-kcc/governance/policies-procedures/Scholarship%20Committee%20Guidelines and include a brief written statement of financial need, the amount you’re requesting, your practice history, and include it with your registration form and deposit.
