Neon Is Here and Training Is Available!

You've probably been hearing a lot of talk about Neon, the new software KCC purchased to handle the website, newsletter, financials, sangha directory, volunteer activities and so much more. It doesn't replace our website; you can still access the website as usual. How will this change effect you and what will be different?

First, through Neon, you have access to your personal history at KCC like never before. When you log in to your account, you can view your donation history, classes/retreats you have taken in the past, view and change your contact information, and also sign up for volunteer projects posted online. You can access the Sunday teacher schedule, our YouTube channel, KCC's Facebook page and Marci's photo page in one click. In the future, we may post the sangha directory and perhaps include an online bookstore.

Additionally, logging in to Neon will soon be the first step you encounter after clicking on "Donate" or "Register" from the KCC website. Everyone who has ever taken a class or donated to KCC already has an account, so please don't create a new one. There are approximately 10 free Neon Learning Sessions scheduled in January and February to give you a brief tour and also give each attendee their own login and password, a list of sangha members you can contact for help with your questions, and helpful tips. Group learning sessions will be held at least until the end of February (5 more weeks). Sign-up sheets are at KCC-Monroe near the front door. If you cannot attend one of these sessions, but would like a tour with one of our IT crew, please email Margaret Janssen at phoenix20s12@gmail.com before the end of February. Starting in March, you can contact Peter Wood at pwretreats@gmail.com. There is also a video available from a recent live Neon learning session for those of you who feel comfortable learning online. The video is linked here. After you finish watching the video, email Margaret or Peter Wood for your user ID, password, and Contact and Tips sheet.

Finally, the use of Neon is a big step forward for our volunteers and staff working behind the scenes to make things run smoothly and accurately for everyone at KCC. Neon was designed by non-profit techie-types specifically for non-profit organizations such as ours, so they understand we need to organize and be efficient, communicate in various ways with many people simultaneously, and provide opportunities and support for volunteers. As we grow into our new building on Skidmore, Neon has the ability and flexibility to grow with us. This is so important.

Please bear with our IT team as we settle in and make adjustments in this newest addition to our sangha, Neon. It took 18 months of research and deliberation to arrive to where we are today, and we're so pleased to offer this to you! Don't delay - sign up, watch online or email Margaret or Peter to get started. It's really easy, and your participation helps all of us. Thank you!
