Regularly Scheduled Meditation Sessions
There are two meditation practices done at the center. One is Calm Abiding (Shamata) meditation, which is basic sitting meditation with a brief liturgy at the beginning and end. The other is Chenrezig meditation, which is a Vajrayana practice. This practice includes chanting and recitation of mantra.
Although everyone is welcome to attend both practices, the Calm Abiding practice is more accessible to those who are not familiar with Vajrayana meditation. In either case, attending an introductory session or arranging to speak with someone prior to a meditation session will make your observation or participation in the meditation more meaningful.
The following events are usually held every week. Occasionally, special events such as Sunday evening classes or weekend retreats may interfere with this schedule. Such special events are usually listed in the Upcoming Events section. Other schedule variations are noted below.
