Shamatha Meditation
For beginning and experienced meditators regardless of background.
The practice of shamatha, also known as calm abiding meditation, builds a stable foundation for the realization of insight into the nature of "how things are" - the nature of the mind.
Two Shamata sessions are usually held every Sunday.
- Morning Shamata is held from 9-10 am. On the first Sunday of every month, this Shamata session is included in the all-day sit.
- Evening Shamata is held from 6:30-7:30 pm unless a special event is scheduled during this time period. Check the Upcoming Events list for possible conflicts.
