Long Retreat Project

In 2001, Kagyu Changchub Chuling purchased 240 acres of land north of Goldendale, Washington. Since that time, we have been developing facilities on the land to support long-term, cloistered retreats; shorter group retreats; and self-guided, personal retreats. Our effort has drawn on the support of hundreds of donors and volunteers, and is now beginning to bear fruit; since 2008, KCC has been hosting retreats at SCOL, fulfilling the hopes and wishes of our extended community.

As of January 2013, KCC has raised $2.8 million dollars from over 550 donors. With your help, we will raise the funds necessary to complete the long retreat cloister, currently projected to be between $350,000 and $375,000. To date, the project is debt-free.

Venerable Bokar Rinpoche, who was an inspiration for and early supporter of the project, gave the land the title Ser Chö Ösel Ling—“Land of the Clear Light Golden Dharma.” We hope you are inspired to learn more about this wonderful retreat project and how you can be involved:
