Make A Donation

"I ask you all to contribute through words, deeds, funds, harmony, understanding and whatever other wholesome input these projects will require. I am confident that you will work together as a sangha, in consultation with Lama Michael Conklin, and that you will successfully manage all the practical details."
Venerable Bokar Rinpoche

Pledge to KCC

Your donations pay expenses necessary to run our programs and keep our doors open.  Your pledges allow us to plan our annual budget.  Make a Pledge.

Donate Money or Securities

To donate money mail a check to:
Kagyu Changchub Chuling
Attn: Treasurer
73 NE Monroe Street
Portland, Oregon 97212

Many donors make gifts in the form of appreciated marketable securities rather than cash. This is one of the most attractive methods of giving because of the substantial tax advantages:

  • With itemized tax forms, the donor receives a charitable income tax deduction.
  • The donor avoids paying tax on the capital gain of selling the securities.
  • If the securities have been owned for more than one year, donors may claim a tax deduction for the market value of the securities. (As opposed to the purchase value of the securities.)

To make a gift of securities, please contact:
Ephraim Miller, Treasurer, at 503-284-6697, (treasurer at kcc.org)

Planned Giving

Consider how you might leave a legacy extending beyond this lifetime. A common method of planned giving is to remember KCC in your will or trust. Other options might be annuities or designating KCC as a beneficiary on one of your life insurance policies.

The tax identification number for KCC is 93-0799664. You will want to discuss bequest language with your financial advisor or lawyer.

For more information on planned giving, please email us at (donate at kcc.org).

The KCC Leave a Legacy Circle is comprised of individuals who have named KCC as a beneficiary, in some form, in their will. We would appreciate your contacting us when it is appropriate for us to add your name to this group!

In-Kind Donations

Perhaps you have something like furniture, tools, building materials or appliances that are in good condition, but that you no longer use or want. KCC may need such items and you may be eligible for a tax deduction if you donate them to KCC. This is known as "an in-kind donation".

If you are considering an in-kind donation, please email (donate at kcc.org) to discuss KCC's needs and the articles you wish to donate.

Thank You

As you know, KCC is a Vajrayana Buddhist center, founded by the Venerable Kalu Rinpoche, where the Karma and Shangpa lineages are taught, practiced and supported. Our function as an institution is to support practitioners at every stage on the path to spiritual awakening. The emphasis in our training is on the cultivation of insight and compassion in both formal practice and in daily life. Your generous bequest will significantly enable this mission.
