Volunteer
In the years since KCC acquired Ser Chö Ösel Ling, hundreds of volunteers have contributed thousands of hours of their time to develop and maintain it. They have worked in every phase and on all elements of the project, including:
Volunteer work has been critical to our success in developing long retreat facilities and maintaining this wonderful natural resource. As SCOL continues to grow and evolve, our reliance on volunteers to support our efforts will, too. If you would like to contribute your time and talents, please contact Rural Operations Manager, Galen Doucette at (rom at kcc.org), to find out how you can get involved.
Monthly Work Party On the second Saturday of each month, SCOL sponsors a work party. Each month’s work is planned in advance to take advantage of the weather or to assist in work specific to the season. Volunteers make a day of the outing, commuting from Portland early Saturday morning (carpooling can be arranged) and returning in the evening. The events are fun and collegial, and SCOL benefits from the substantial work volunteers do. Before planning to join a work party, let Galen Doucette know in advance at (rom at kcc.org), and he will coordinate with you about timing and transportation.
Other ways to volunteer at KCC KCC also operates an Urban Center with several Retreats & Progams. Volunteers help run the center in many ways. Volunteer jobs available at KCC
